Mednet Webaccess Tour

To open Mednet Webaccess, select the "Webaccess" link under the Mednet Files heading on the Menu.

You will then be taken to the following screen where you will be prompted to log in. Enter your UserID and password in the required fields. Note that you do not have to enter your departmental context or server information. Webaccess will route your login appropriately.

You will see all directories you have rights to.

Home@SWMED is your personal directory that exists on the O: drive.

Drive0@USERS is the O: drive. You will see your personal and departmental folders here.

DriveW@USERS includes multi-deparmental shared applications you have access to.

DriveS@USERS is the S: drive. All users have access to this common area for temporary storage and/or file transfer. Note that all items on this drive are deleted during regularly scheduled network down times (usually the third Sunday of the month).

To upload or download files, select FILE to see the available options.

Selecting Upload will give you the following window.

Users who are using Mednet Webaccess thru a dial up modem connection need to be aware of the size of the file they are trying to transfer. Large files may take minutes or hours to upload or download depending on the connection speed and file size.

Selecting Download will give you a standard download window.

Right click on your documents and folders to see available options such as delete, rename, download, copy, move.

IMPORTANT:
When editing files, any changes you make are saved locally to your workstation. You will have to upload the file for it to be updated on the server.

Depending on your particular setup, you may be able to open files by clicking on them or may be prompted to download the files.

You can also use the Text View option on the bottom of the screen. All Macintosh users must use this option. See the Macintosh Tour for instructions on how to use Text View.

Be sure to logout when you are done. Simply closing the browser does not properly log you off of the network.
