Mednet NetStorage - Web-based access to your Mednet files

The link below will provide web browser based access to the files stored on your Mednet folders, specifically access to the O:, S: and W: drives. This system, known as Mednet NetStorage, is available to all Mednet users. Simply use your current Southwestern ID and password to authenticate to the server via the link below.

Please Note: A new version of the Mednet NetStorage server is now available, and a detailed description of the new features is listed below. If you encounter any issues with the new server, the old server can be accessed by clicking on the link provided. If you do experience any problems or questions while using either the new or old Mednet NetStorage servers, please contact the UT Call Center at 214.648.7600 for assistance.

Important Information:
  • Use SouthwesternID and Password
  • Available volumes/folders and access rights match Mednet desktop login
  • You can download, upload, delete, copy, move and rename documents/folders.
  • When editing a file, it is saved to the local hard drive. You must then upload the changed file to the server.
  • You can access Mednet files from on-campus or remote computers.
  • No VPN required. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption is used to secure traffic.
  • No access to files on local drives or department servers.
  • File size will greatly influence speed. Do not attempt to work with large files over a dial up modem unless you have plenty of time.
  • Ten minute inactivity timeout.
  • Remember to click the LOGOUT button when you are finished. Simply closing the browser does not log out you of your Network session.
  • Some file types may not open by clicking them and may need to be downloaded before opening.
New Features (December 2005):
  • Multiple files or subfolders can be downloaded as a .zip file
  • Multiple files can be uploaded simultaneously
  • File lists may be sorted by Name, size or date, by clicking the header text or using the menu options.
  • Filter feature (top right) can limit display to only files matching a pattern
  • View file properties. Amount of detail will vary, due to different file systems on some servers
